Configure Data Staging Connection (Versions: 5.0+)

Versions: 8.0+

To use the Data Staging feature in QuerySurge, it is necessary for all installed Agents to communicate with the QuerySurge database. When initially deploying QuerySurge or implementing architecture changes, it may be necessary to reconfigure the connection to ensure connectivity from all Agents.

To configure the connection, you will need the following information:

• Hostname or IP address of the QuerySurge MySQL Database Server, that can be resolved by all Agent machines. Depending on environment setup, you may use a host name like the fully-qualified DNS name (ex. querysurge-db.mycorp.com) or machine name (ex. querysurge-db), or IP address (ex. 10.1.200.3). In a single-machine deployment, this may default to localhost or 127.0.0.1.
• Port of the QuerySurge MySQL Database Server, specified during installation (default is 3306).

Follow the steps in the section below for your QuerySurge version to configure the Data Staging connection:

QuerySurge versions 5.x, 6.x, 7.x

1. Log in to QuerySurge as an Admin and navigate to the QuerySurge Admin view.
2. Navigate to Configuration > Connections.
3. Select the Data Staging connection and click Edit. The Connection Wizard will appear.
   
4. Click Next, and then Next to proceed to the Server Details page.
5. Enter the Server hostname/IP address and Port of the QuerySurge Database Server.
   
6. Click Next. To test the updated connection details, click Test Connection.
7. Click Save.

QuerySurge version 8.0 - 11.2

1. Log into QuerySurge Global Administration Portal as a Global Admin.
2. Navigate to QuerySurge Administration > Server Properties.
   
3. [8.0] In the Data Staging Hostname/IP field, enter the server hostname/IP address QuerySurge Database Server
4. [8.0] In the Data Staging Port field, enter the server port of the QuerySurge Database Server
5. [8.1] The Data Staging Use Cursor option

QuerySurge version 12.0+

1. Log into QuerySurge Global Administration Portal as a Global Admin.
2. Navigate to QuerySurge Administration > Configuration > Server Configuration.
   
3. In the Data Staging Hostname/IP field, enter the server hostname/IP address QuerySurge Database Server
4. In the Data Staging Port field, enter the server port of the QuerySurge Database Server
5. The Data Staging Use Cursor option

To test the updated connection details:

1. Log in to any QuerySurge Project as a Project Admin, and navigate to the QuerySurge Admin view.
2. Navigate to Configuration > Connections.
3. Select the Data Staging connection and click Edit. The Connection Wizard will appear.
4. Click Next, and then click Next.
5. Click Test Connection.
