QuerySurge Data Retention Tools
QuerySurge Data Retention tools are located in the QuerySurge Admin view - so only QuerySurge Admin users have access to these tools. In the Admin view, click on Data Storage > Data Retention in the tree. The Data Retention panel shows the options available:
Design-Time Run Query Results
The Clear DTR Query Results button allows you to delete all of the query results that have been returned during any Design-Time Runs. This will only delete the results of the queries, so you will still be able to see the high-level test outcomes and related information, such as number of failures, etc.
As of QuerySurge Version 12.1, there is also the Max. # of Days to Keep DTR Results which will perform an automatic deletion operation for all query results that have returned during any Design-Time Runs, keeping any results within the specified day in the input field. If the input field is cleared or left blank, no automated deletion operation will occur.
CAUTION: The Delete operation is irreversible. Deleted results are not recoverable.
Auto Delete Scenario Results
There are a few different options regarding automatic deletion of Scenario results. When you enable this option, you must choose a discard operation. Your available options are to Archive or Delete the Scenarios that match your chosen conditions.
The automatic pruning of Scenario results can be done based on the following conditions:
- Max. # of Scenario Results to Keep
Only the latest N number of Scenarios are kept, where N is defined in the edit box to the right of the option. Scenario runs of older Scenarios will automatically be discarded.
- Max. # of Days to Keep Scenario Results
Scenarios will only be kept for D number of days, where D is defined in the edit box to the right of the option. Scenarios that are older than the designated number of days will automatically be discarded.
Note: The Archive operation drops results tables from the QuerySurge database, but produces archive files of the data on the App server. This means that the Archive operation is roughly neutral in terms of total disk usage (although note that the App server and the database may be deployed on different boxes); unless the archive files are moved off the App server to long-term file storage, there is no recovery of disk space.
Note: The Delete operation is a complete, irreversible deletion of results from QuerySurge, and so can recover disk space.
CAUTION: The Delete operation is irreversible. Deleted results are not recoverable.
Scenario Results Storage Options
Settings are available that allow QuerySurge administrators to determine the level of result data to be stored at runtime. The following options are available:
Save All Query Results - Store high-level, summary information and detailed, individual data points for all QueryPairs executed in the scenario.
Save Only Failures - Store high-level, summary information and detailed, individual data points for FAILED QueryPairs only. All other QueryPair outcomes will only store high-level summary information.
Discard All Results - Store only high-level summary information for all QueryPairs in a scenario, regardless of execution outcome.
CAUTION: The Delete operation is irreversible. Deleted results are not recoverable.
